Suzi Caunce MRSS(TT), Cert Ed FAHE

Suzi initially trained as a Dietician Catering Manager, but finding many of her questions unanswered, she went on to study macrobiotics, an oriental holistic therapy which includes shiatsu, diet and yoga. Suzi spent two years in the U.S.A working in macrobiotic organisations to gain practical experience.
On her return she was invited to work as part of the team of therapists at the East West Centre in London, where she used shiatsu, yoga and cooking with a variety of acute and chronic conditions. During the 1980s she taught in Canada, U.S.A. , Europe and Africa.
In 1981 Suzi was invited to be an original member of the Shiatsu Society and has over 20 years experience of practitioner training. She has helped in the development of professional training into a 3-year diploma course which now includes the use of Traditional Chinese Medicine along with Traditional Five Element diagnosis. She is Principal of the Heart of England Shiatsu School and a Shiatsu Society Assessor.
Suzi studied to be a yoga teacher with Mr. Bo-In Lee in Boston Massachusetts and consistently attended Oki Yoga Classes and classes in hatha yoga with Maxine Tobias. Suzi is currently studying Dru Yoga with the Life Foundation.
Suzi has done a great deal of post graduate training in cranial work/ magnet therapy/ seiki and counselling/process work.

YOGA IS A GIFT TO HELP US RELAX AND PLAY IN LIFE, BEING MINDFUL, NOT PERFECT! ABLE TO TAKE A DEEP BREATH AND BEGIN ANEW !

Generally, each class includes a warm up, sequences, breathing exercises, asana, and some relaxation. You may also do some simple shiatsu or chanting.

Suzi's approach to yoga is to strengthen rather than to stretch. She is trained in Shiatsu and a focus of the classes are the Japanese methods which keep her fit enough to do this.

Her background in oriental diagnosis gives her a unique approach to teaching in that different moods, circumstances or even types of weather require different approaches to the body.

Learning is structured and the input of each student is valued.

Includes a focus on world or personal peace.

Easing your way into Zen Meridian Yoga

13th September 2008
Suzi will look at the alternatives particularly how meridian stretches be taught to people who are stiff (£24.00)

Oki Yoga with Tomoko

Saturday September 27th. £24.00
Master Masahiro Oki (1921-1985) re-introduced yoga in the light of the fine Japanese culture of Zen, and emphasised an importance on applying the essence of yoga in our daily activities rather than recommended exercising asanas for hours a day separately from the daily life.
The first part of the class aims at recreating a stable physical condition, using a variety of individual exercises to develop a sense of physical integration and balanced energy, and in the last part students taste the comfort of meditation. Please bring water, a mat and wear loose trousers.

Zen Meridian Yoga

Saturday October 4th.
with Suzi Caunce £20.00
A Japanese system of yoga which has stretches for all the meridians used in Oriental Medicine. This is a diagnostic system and can be used to develop health and strength. The exercises focus on visualisation and breathing so that you relax into the stretches. Suzi will look at the alternatives particularly how meridian stretches be taught to people who are stiff.
