Yoga

Yoga promotes good health, clarity and inner peace.

It is rooted in ancient tradition and adapted to each individual in his or her current situation.

Yoga Style

All classes include postures (asanas), breathwork (pranayama) and deep relaxation or meditation, appropriate to the level of the class.  

The emphasis is towards developing the potential of the individual – flexibility, strength, mental focus, emotional balance and awareness of inner spirit.

About the teacher

Jane Cluley (Jayadhara) has over 25 years of yoga experience and has been teaching yoga since 1988. She now works predominantly in the style of Satyananda Yoga (Bihar School of Yoga). She has studied and travelled widely throughout India. 

She taught extensively in Yorkshire, the North East and on Yogic Studies 1 in Europe. She has tutored BWY Foundation Courses, Basics of Bihar Yoga, and a Swadhaya Course. Her particular interest is presenting Yogic philosophy simply and using yoga for improving mental health.
 
She is a BWY Diploma Course Tutor, has relocated to Herefordshire and can be contacted to teach courses and workshops.

A course for training committed yoga practitioners to become safe and effective teachers in all aspects of yoga. Preference will be given to those who have completed a BWY Foundation Course or equivalent. 

Careful consideration needs to be given before embarking on this inspiring but demanding course. 

BWY Foundation Course

11th October 2007  20 Weekly meetings 10am – 1pm

The Foundation course follows a very practical approach - helping students deepen their knowledge, and develop proficiency in a wide range of techniques.

It builds confidence, enabling students to effectively plan their own personal practice. It includes informative talks, discussions and group work. Regular home practice and keeping a yoga diary are integral parts of the course.

 Minimum requirement: 2 years yoga experience.

Weekend retreat with Swami Vedantananda

An opportunity to experience a systematic and profound approach to guided meditation practices, using the breath, mantra, vision and light. Asanas, pranayama, mudra and bandha will be used to support the meditation practices. 

Swami Vedanta is an internationally recognised teacher of the Satyananda tradition, is now living in Portugal and this is one of the few opportunities to work with her in the UK.

A joyous weekend sharing practices from the traditions of Hatha, Raja and Nada Yoga. No singing experience or singing talent is needed.  

Krishnadhyanam (KD / Richard Roberts) has been developing his ‘Sing Out!” work since 1980. He is a relaxed and fun tutor who helps everyone to access their song and to re-find their amazing voice they were born with. Learning the Indian Sa Re Ga system and feasting on divine sound and kirtan will be included.
