About the day
This is a sponsored event open to all BWY members, to broaden your own yoga practice. Non-BWY members are also very welcome.
This morning workshop explores the science and practice of mantra and how it can invoke stillness or meditation.
Mantras are potent sound vibrations that directly align our energies with our innermost core. Meditation is the art of becoming quiet and still, at ease with our self and the moment. Yet such quietude and stillness can feel impossible when we’re overly caught up in the clinging of the mind, and the business of our daily responsibilities. Mantra offers a simple and practical method which, whilst accepting the mind and present moment as it is, naturally brings about harmony in our energy body. This in turn awakens an inner settling, relaxing and quietude characteristic of meditation or stillness.
We will be exploring Om chanting, the ongoing repetition of a mantra (japa) and walking meditation with mantra – all interspersed with asana (postures), explanations and deep meditative relaxation (yoga nidra). Suitable for all, this workshop will offer practices that you can use to enhance your yoga practice and daily life.

Whilst living in the ashram, he has been trained in many aspects of yogic practice, gradually deepened his capacities to deliver the teaching to others, and endeavouring to imbibe and live the practice of yoga in and through daily life.
